Saturday 3PM Premier League Acca
Brighton were exceptional in their opener against Watford, with Graham Potter’s type of soccer taking effect.
I’m not suggesting they will be world beaters, but Albion have a great record against West Ham, winning three and drawing one of their past four meetings. There’s no shame at the Hammers dropping their opener 5-0 to Manchester City, but the Amex will be buoyant and expectant, and I do think 8/5 does seem long for Albion to secure a third straight home victory against West Ham.
Next, I have Aston Villa to overcome Bournemouth at home.
I thought Dean Smith’s men were impressive in their challenging opener from Spurs, while Eddie Howe’s men conceded late to draw at home to Sheffield United.
17/10 looks very backable considering Bournemouth lost 13 of the 19 away games last year, while conceding at least twice in their last 14 on the street in the Prem.
Villa Park will probably be a tough place to see this year, and the Cherries will be the first to find that out.
Another newly-promoted side next: I have Norwich beating Newcastle at home.
The Canaries were valiant in defeat at Anfield past Friday, and still managed to complete their game with an xG double as high as Newcastle, that lost at Arsenal.
I must say this is a fairly difficult one to predict, but Norwich have luggage of aims in them–after scoring 93 times last season–and I don’t think Steve Bruce’s side have sufficient to counteract that. ??
This is another selection where I’ve gone for a slightly longer cost, but just like the Villa-Bournemouth game, the home side remain the ones to see.
